Meet John P. Brody Jr.

John P. Brody, Jr. (“J.P.”) was born August 22, 1946 in New Jersey to a Marine officer (a United States Naval Academy graduate) and a schoolteacher. There were lawyers scattered throughout J.P.’s family from New England to New Orleans. He completed elementary, high school and college in New York, graduating from St. John Fisher College with a B.A. degree in 1969.

After college J.P. moved to San Francisco where he supervised iron workers on various commercial building projects in the Bay area. After several years working in construction, he decided to try law school and moved to Spokane to attend Gonzaga College of Law where he graduated in 1979.

Upon admission to the Washington State Bar in 1979, J.P. moved to Kitsap County to commence his law practice and he has practiced in Kitsap County ever since—over 30 years.

Over the years, the Brody Law Office has represented clients in dissolution of marriage, child custody, estate planning, elder law, nursing home abuse, probate, personal injury, driving under the influence, criminal, bankruptcy, medical malpractice, wrongful deaths, complex litigation and real estate matters. J.P. has served as guardian ad litem for the young, the old and the disabled. He has served as mediator and arbitrator in resolving disputes.

His practice has provided Mr. Brody with a wide range of experiences and has helped sharpen his focus on all matters relating to protection of vulnerable adults, in particular those vulnerable adults residing in nursing homes.
